Quiet Before the Storm?

Sitting outside with the dogs, drinking my coffee. What a great way to spend a morning. I grabbed my camera and decided to take a few photos.

Trying Something New

Trying to post from my phone. Let's see if it works...

Hot Summer Fun

Our Hot Dog - or Our Frank

Wow is it hot! 108 heat index yesterday, and more of the same today!

Yesterday Allison and I beat the heat by going to see a movie, shopped in the fabric store, and came home and began our new projects.

Totes, Bags, Purses, whatever you want to call them.

What a great way to spend a hot summer day!

We should get them finished today, then what should we do?  -  besides clean house

Another Successful Visit

And yet another visit with the nieces has come and gone.
We took them home yesterday in a quick five hour mini tour of Iowa.
We met up with family members in parking lots and gas stations for quick good-byes.
We started out early (8:30) after a late movie night.
The girls all fell asleep less than an hour into the trip.
I couldn't resist taking a few pictures of them...

Nieces Part 4

This is the 4th year since we started having nieces visit us in the summer, and this year we added a third. She wasn't planned, but when we went to pick up her sister, she was crying because she wanted to come along. We gave in and said, come on. No clothes, no toothbrush, no hairbrush. Lets go shopping! (The girls are all growing up fast, and we are hosting a 12, 10 and 6 year old)

Three days later, that is our only shopping trip. We have been very busy doing things they have wanted to do, and shopping just hasn't been a priority.

We have...
played in the pool, slip and slided, went to the library, exercised with Allison, swam at the falls, played at home, went to the beach at the lake and swam, had a picnic, watched a movie, sang songs at the top of our lungs, and had a great time.

They've only been here a little over 3 days!

I have loved having Allison here to help keep the nieces occupied. She has been such a great help!

Frank has been great with the girls! He loves having them around, and follows them everywhere, into the pool, down the slip and slide, up and down the driveway, and into their rooms. He is a wonderful kids dog! He LOVES them! The 6 yr. old fell and hurt her elbow and foot, and was crying, Frank was right there trying to help her feel better.

Dogs At The Ball Park

A hot June afternoon found us sitting in the sun at the ball park. We came to watch the game, but more importantly, today dogs could join in the fun!

Frank had a great time sniffing other dogs, finding dropped ball park treats on the ground,  repeatedly tipping over gallon ice cream pails filled with water. He wanted to climb in and cool off, and they would only allow a paw to get wet, and whoops, there it went. It was so nice they had so many sitting around, and they didn't mind refilling them.

It was fun, we even got to see ourselves briefly on the news!
