Little Logie Graduated

This past weekend, Kevin and I headed for Illinois. My nephew Logan was graduating from High School. (Valedictorian) We went a day early and stopped to visit with Kevin's family first. We went to our favorite pizza place in Silvis, Frank's Pizza. A hole in the wall bar/restaurant that Kevin has known about since he was a young boy. Ummm
Our niece Geni and her significant other Mike, came and joined us. We then went back to their place and visited till late. After that we even had one more stop, Kevin's brother Kenny's house. We were there till well past midnight, but we had such a great time catching up. We hadn't seen each other since Christmas time.

We stayed in a hotel in Moline where they have three resident ducks this time of year. They always return to lay eggs. They stay in the fountain/pond out front. We were checking out Saturday morning, and here comes a female duck right through the automatic doors, two males were following close behind. The receptionist told us they wanted their breakfast. Apparently, they walk right through the front door and in return get led out with a couple pieces of bread. How cute!
On to graduation... only an hour and a half away. We were so proud of Logan. He, along with two other valedictorians and one salutatorian, gave a speech, and we had a great time being there to support him. A very nice evening, and Logan really racked up the scholarships! (He will be joining Kris, Allison and Travis at ISU in the fall) We had a great evening visiting with friends and family back at the house. We stayed up too late again.Back home on Sunday. Kris was home watching the dog for us, so we had a late lunch with him and Melinda. Then we went to the par 3 and played a quick round. It was a hot windy day, and none of us were very good, but we had a great time! Back home for a 6:00 small group from church. We always meet at our house, and we barely beat them there this time. :-)
What a weekend. Memorial Day Weekend, here we come.....

Watts Family Slideshow

We made this video as an invite to the lake this year for the
Watts Family Reunion 2010.
The Kevin Watts family enjoy going to the lake each year,
and have enjoyed holding a Watts Family Reunion up there every couple of years.
We hope it will be just as much fun this year as in years past.
The cabin is getting a bit more crowded each time we go with the whole family.
There are more and more and more babies and children and new in-laws with

The Watts Family Reunion is almost here!

Puddy - Allison's Kitty

The Weekend

What a l o n g week.
The past two Fridays I had off, and that made for a full and long week this week.
After work today, Kevin and I took a drive, and then we
sat on the deck and enjoyed talking and reading while we
grilled some really great steaks.
We don't have any plans this weekend.
Mow the lawn,
enjoy the sun,
church on Sunday
and maybe even throw a line into the lake.
Praying for a Mayberry weekend.

Watts Family + 1

Alright, I guess the word is spreading pretty quickly, so I will make it official on the World Wide Web. Kris proposed to Melinda the Saturday before Easter and she said YES!

We are very happy with Kris's choice in a future wife. Melinda is such a sweet young lady, and she and Kris complement each other very well. They have been dating for almost 3 years. Even though Melinda is already a part of our family, we look forward to making her an official member.

5 years later...

Kristopher graduated!

What a great day we had in Ames, Iowa yesterday. The weather was a little cold and windy, but we had such a nice day being with family and friends celebrating with Kris as he graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Industrial Engineering.

The Engineering College held a breakfast and small ceremony first thing in the morning. My sister Kim, her husband Kenny, my mom and nephew Travis John (who they were picking up from school to take home for the summer) all got to attend. Allison, and Kris's fiancee Melinda, and her parents were all in attendance. We got to meet some of Kris's professors whom we have heard so much about. Each of the graduates got to go up front and introduce their guests, and speak a little. That was really nice.

After the breakfast, we stood around and visited and took photos for quite a while, and then decided to go have some lunch before we had to head to the actual graduation at 1:30.

The graduation was very nice, there were close to 1300 graduates. The entire ceremony lasted a little over 2 hours. I thought they were very efficient how quickly things got done.

We are so proud of Kris, he has worked really hard and has accomplished so much. He finishes his RA position this week and will be moving into summer housing.

This summer he will be working at the university doing research. He will travel a little and enjoy not going to classes for a couple of months.
