First Ride of 2015

As we began our first bicycle ride of the year, we ( mostly me ) bundled up, it was a balmy 45 degrees!  We headed to downtown Davenport to watch the St. Paddy's parade! If we were able to stand in the sun and the wind would stop blowing for a few minutes, we would warm up. By the time we headed home, I was ready to shed a layer! It was a fun day!
P.S. it was only an 8 mile ride, but we ( I )have to start somewhere!

Less Than A Week

Six short days and it's almost gone! We have been enjoying BEAUTIFUL spring-like weather and our snow is almost gone! It's so great seeing the brown, soggy earth again!

Ice Ice Everywhere

Frankie walking on top of the snow,
The shinny night time glow,
Scraping the sidewalk, inches at a time,
And the glazed windows
It must be a late winter ice storm!

January Phone Photos

I rarely take my camera out as of late, and that makes me not have any pictures for this blog, so...
A few pictures from the month of January that I took on my phone!

Over 15" of snow in a 24 hour period!
Driving in the storm to get Frankie from the kennel.
Frank playing in the snow, he loves it!

Helping Kris and Melinda move.
The eagles are flying!
A rare nice January day for a walk!

January is gone, welcome February!

2015 !?!

What a great beginning to a new year.
We headed to Illinois to visit my mom and sister and brother-in-law.
The roads were snow free, and it wasn't bitter cold!
A clear road to Illinois!

Frankie photo bombing us!

We were also blessed with a warm day where we were able to get outside and take down all the outside Christmas lights, so now they won't be frozen to the roof until April!

Playing on the grass in January?

Okay, this was in the sun, but it was 40 degrees!

After that brief, balmy day, we are back to sub zero temperatures, and snow.
Yesterday we had a late start because of almost 7 inches of powdery blowing snow over night.
Today, we had a cold day. The same thing as a snow day but school was canceled because temperatures are expected to be near -40 with the wind chill! BRRR

Frankie HATES the really cold weather. He won't go out unless he absolutely HAS to! I don't blame him!

9 inches of snow in the last 3 days :-(
Welcome 2015!

A New Car!

Allison got her first car over 9 years ago, it was a used, great for a 16 year old, '98 Saturn SL2. It was a great car for her for the last 100,000 miles or so.
But, it was time.
Time for a
New Car

Kevin and Allison drove into Chicago land. They knew the car they wanted, had already made the deal with TrueCar. All Allison had to do was pick a color, and do the paperwork.
I was outside when they pulled in and got these fun photos of Allison pulling into the garage.

We Love Our Family!

We had such a fun week prior to Christmas.
Allison came home.
Kris and Melinda came home.
It was so great having our family together!

The "Kids".

The girls.

The guys.

A LOT of our time was spent playing on our new x-box one.
Fantasia was our favorite!
Frank loved having everyone home.

Puddy and Frank loving on Allison.

Merry Christmas!! 2014

Thanksgiving with all the adult "kids" and the Wolfs was a great weekend full of laughter, great food, and Chicago Land shopping.
We returned home and put the tree up, and decorated and cleaned the house. All so we would be ready for the 39 extra Watts's to gather with us to celebrate family!
And now, presents are accumulating in the "secret" hiding place. And cards are ready to be mailed.
That must mean...
Christmas 2014 is almost upon us!
Allison should be home Friday night, with Puddy in tow.
Kris and Melinda should be here early next week.
Life is good in Le Claire!

I can't believe we have lived here 2 years already! Like I always say, how time flies!
Below are several photos of the last month or two.

We got the Major Prize puzzle put together!

Made Sugar Cookies

Hosted the Watts Family Christmas with 41 people!

Decorated the house

We let the kids at the family gathering decorate the living room tree. I love
how most of the decorations are on the bottom right side of the tree!
They even made the paper chain! It was so much fun to watch them do it all!

Decorated the Front Room tree

Merry Christmas Everyone!
